Hi Michelle, as soon as I glanced at this I had my doubts. Something about the flow bothered me. Looking at it in more detail, I am even more convinced that it is dubious. The hesitant "D" and wrongly-formed final "a" seem to be the most obvious issues. Even if the "D" is down to problems with the pen or writing surface, I'm sure the final "a" isn't right. As you will see from other examples (Google images etc.), the final "a" is usually a circle that carries straight on from the "n" and is not a repeat of the first "a".

yes the final a is what is worrying me as well.  the pen is a different kind to what she normally wrote with which is why I thought the sig was not that fluid and rather atypical .  The auction house is well regarded but ........

What auction house?

derweatts and bloomsbury. here is the complete picture

It is a very good auction house though and I would be surprised if they sold a fake but I guess nobody is perfect, they normally have very decent authenticators.
