Thrift Store Find - German WWII Aviator Autograph #d Print - Adolf Galland
I pulled this from the closet tonight where it has sat for 10 years....I frame my own stuff...so i still check thrift stores for quality aluminum frames .... In 2006 i was in a local thrift store and picked up a really pretty 16x20 frame....cheap...it had this print in it....it had a label from a frame shop in alabama or mississippi....so i rolled up this print and used the frame...
The print is a b/w of a german nazi aviator...so i did some research on the web....and found the guy was pretty important.....
here it is....
Any of you collect aviator material....this is signed by the artist M Wooten...165/500...and signed by Galland....I have no perception of it's value....it's likely more desirable in Europe than over here....and of course i have no COA....
Interesting piece though...especially from a thrift store.....i was thinking of putting it out on ebay.....
Any advice ? think it is worth anything ?
thanks
Tim

Thank you Joe W.
I would not have found that link in my searching...it is indeed the same print..
I did find Michael Wooten and some verbiage stating that his early prints were signed by the subject of the print...so i have no doubt about it being real....
I am not a big aviation art guy, but given mine is not framed, etc...i think i will probably keep it.....
Nice work in my behalf....thank you
tim
