Here is a pic of a JL signed White Album currently for sale at Special Auction Services Auctioneers in the UK. In their terms they state it is up to the buyer or their agent to satisfy themselves on the authenticity of the autographs they sell. They provide the provenance as supplied by the consignor. No returns accepted. Easy to sell items when you put the onus on the buyer as opposed to: "we only sell autographs that we believe to be 100% genuine. Returns are accepted if the autographs are proven to be not genuine". Why don't these places have terms like that!! Anyway I digress. Opinions on this one. The Lennon looks off to me.

Wow, that's pretty awful.

Heart attack.
Here is my comment to the auction house. I'll post the reply if I get one.

Hello, Just thought you would like to know that the Lennon signature on this Lp is 100% not genuine. This is despite the story told by the consignor. I'm surprised an auction house of your repute would be fooled into selling this forgery. Perhaps you should check with Paul Wane at Tracks or Roger Epperson and I'm positive their opinions will be not genuine. Best regards, Len
Unbelievable, this auction house obviously don't care about whether it's authentic or not.Their just looking for a sale.
Offered in this same sale are other very bad Beatles autographs however there also are a couple of good ones.

This is what someone copied....

It's sort of a stylized version of his signature that Yoko has put on Lennon products. This comes from lithographs that were released in 1988...

I wouldn't buy ANYTHING from this auction house:  Special Auction Services.  TONS of Beatles and other fakes -- plus who knows -- the supposed "real ones" might be photocopies.

Stay far away -- they certainly know their stuff is fake.

So!! who Police's these crooked Auction Houses?  I have seen plenty of them named on this site.

Great question. So far I'm doing it everyone I see fakes being sold. Just a simple email that questions their reputation selling blatant forgeries. I suspect they will get tired of me real soon but l have really thick skin. I do the same with the rash of fake 60's concert posters that are being flogged through UK auction houses.

Well done and good work.
