Family's Martin Luther King signature

Hello all!

I'm a bit new to the forum. 

My dad went to a Martin Luther King speech in Memphis I believe and managed to get a signature. 

Just looking for more info on it or if anyone can truly verify the authenticity of it.

Welcome to Autograph Live! I think you're MLK autograph is real. Very nice quality and well preserved. I estimate that it would bring in the $3,000-$4,500 range in a good auction, although I imagine you want to keep it in the family.

I read there were Playboy Clubs back in the 60's.  Seeing as how the label on the card reads "Mr." I would say the card came from one.

I have no idea. I was told it came from a Memphis speech.

Can anyone take a stab at why it'd say "reserved?" My das had told me that he went to hear a Memphis speech which turned out to be the "I have been to the mountaintop". Can anyone give me a guesstimate date?

Sometimes at speeches and lectures the first few rows have card that say "Reserved" for special guests.

Hi Justin,

My guess about that was posted out of order above.   The card was likely signed exac tly where your father said it was, but if my club theory is correct - the first one opened in Chicago on Feb 29, 1960.

That would put it somewhere after that IF the card itself came from one of their locations.
