I'm not a massive Elvis fan but I thought some of you might want to know that there are some big ticket items coming up for auction in the UK this weekend. The estimates look high to me but then I'm not familiar with Presley prices. I've bought through this auctioneer before. They are well-known for their very successful Titanic auctions.

I attach a link to the auction (via the saleroom):

Good luck!

Minimum bids are SKY HIGH which does not make this a true auction in my opinion. I would guess many of the items will have zero bids.

Well, I think about half the items sold. Henry Aldrige doesn't publish its results on-line so here are the prices of the sold lots:

192 Peppermint pyjamas (worn months before death!) £6,000

201 Signed 74 Vegas contract £3,900

203 "EP" guitar pick £900

205 Elvis-annotated Hilton directory £3,000

206 First music agency contract signed £30,000

208 Elvis worn Vegas trousers £ 3,700

You have to add at least 25% to the bid prices for commission and fees.

For some reason an inscribed copy of The Omen with a high estimate (ca. £8,000) seems to have been withdrawn.

Overall not a bad performance for an auction house that specialises in Titanic memorabilia and sells all manner of things at prices from £10 upwards.
