Michael Jackson drawings (Miscell inc. 'Historic portraits' and 'Disney characters')

I'm noticing a sudden influx of MJ signed Michael Jackson drawings coming on to the auction market, which seem to share the common themes of either 'portraits of historical figures'  or 'Disney characters'.

Both of these themes are of course recognised from Michaels' drawings both at a young age and later in life, but it is interesting that so many new drawings are being released on to the market at the same time.

 It seems that Kristen (Leigh) may be a makeup assistant!!!  (ie an assistant that makes things up)   :)

Mr Parr (as hawaiiat80) is selling another 'MJ -signed' photo, with a 'Kendall Hallard' authentication, signed by Karly Green.   Maybe Mr Parr had 'Special K' for breakfast that day, as the dedication on the photo is to 'Kristen'.

Best to check this one out visually in person, at the authenticator's office, at 'Unit 102E, 2035 4th Street Santa Monica'.    (Nice condos!!   Photo is a different Unit in the same block)

On second thoughts, don't bother.  On the back of the frame ' the cork has a crack'.  Totally devalues it of course :(      Pity, it would have been a bargain at 99p.

(The postage is steep at £20 second-class in the UK!!!)

In December 2007 Michael Jackson's last published interview by Ebony went to market. He discussed Thriller 25 and his past history and the future.
This photo was taken from one of the many poses Michael Jackson did that day for Ebony. It has been inscribed to Kristen who was one of the make up assistants on set that day. The photo measures 15.5x11 inches and is mounted and professionally framed in a chunky gold coloured frame.
It is supplied with its coa and has its original serial holographic sticker on the back.

MICHAEL JACKSON HAND DRAWN & SIGNED PETER PAN ARTWORKS

SET OF 4 DRAWINGS, ONE OF WHICH IS AROUND A3 SIZE AND IS FRAMED. 

These drawings come complete with a letter from Bob Jones who was the vice president of communications at MJJ Productions. 

The drawings originated from Bob Jones from his personal collection and archive of MJ memorabilia he had aquired over a number of years as an employee. The letter indicates the drawings had been completed by Michael Jackson for the purpose of auction for a hospice. 

It is unclear as to why these items remained in Mr Jones' posession, but I was lucky enough to be able to buy them. 

the 3 smaller drawings are on standard a4 paper, the larger drawing appears to be a3 or slightly smaller and is framed in a black wooden frame

 Another seller who seems to think that a high asking price might convince the unwary that their wares are genuine.  I'd be fascinated to see the 'Certificate of Authenticity', which sadly is not included in the photos. 

Seller cyril2472 of Lyon France is offering this forged MJ drawing of Mickey whistling for 3,500 Euros, on ebay France.

 This French ebay offer (yellow shoes) does not appear to be the same Mickey whistling drawing that appears on page 66 of this thread as Lot 126A in the Simon Parr auction dated 28 March 2015. (Top drawing above)  There are differences in the left glove, ankles, and shoes, in addition to the colour.  And also some differences in the faked signature.

 French seller j**l**a** offering a copied 'Bad Mickey' (with a very wobbly forged signature and a heap of mould) for 450 Euros.   Mould may be great in cheese, but is death to collectables!  There is an 'Authentication stamp' on the reverse.

The blue pen original was sold by Juliens in 2009.

 Good to see that Simon Parr (as Kristen Leigh Auctions) is still primarily bidding on and purchasing his own sale items on ebay (here selling as hawaiiat80)!

 Not  a drawing or a 'usual suspect', but I wanted to list this under MJ items for the (ahem) unusual COA.....with a rather familiar commercial name and logo.  It's surprising how lazy forgers can be.  I doubt this large commercial insurance company would be very impressed with the hijacking of its logo (Yellow printed photo is the genuine commercial insurance company logo)

 Also from Frolic Galerie, this 'MJ signed' record player with a cat doodle, and a date very close to MJ's death anniversary.  ($3450). 

Looking at the well -known (Juliens) MJ- signed and dated card from 24 06 2009, it's interesting how closely the style of date is mirrored on the record player.

 No drawings with this offering from Frolic Galerie, but the COA for this 'MJ-signed' white fedora is very curious indeed (the item is highly priced at $8888):

(Michael must have known this would be sold from Quebec, as he is writing English in 'French translation'!!   'Dear Friend John, This letter serves as a certificate for hat white worn and signed by me'....as no one who speaks English ever wrote.)

MJ does mention that the hat was indeed signed & worn by him in his (LOA) letter dated June 10 1998.
