Thanks Corey, very useful. Apart from what I am suggesting here with the 5x7's and the other more esoteric facsimiles from the 1990's and more recently, have you seen any examples from the 80's of him using a straight Autopen?

No, it is my opinion that a facesmile appeared in the late 90s / early 2000s based on the examples I have been shown

Well, some of these seem to be coming from him and some perhaps not. I believe it safe to conclude the "matrix" example originated with him. Despite it's appearance it is not something easily knocked off from what I have seen, and it was not a copy of a copy from the texture/detail. Clearly the one I received is from his camp and is a better quality facsimile than the "matrix" variety - this is what I used in the overlays. Something seems odd there.
