I am not comfortable with the authenticity of this one, sorry. If authentic I would suggest around $800 - $1200 mark due to it being on an iconic image of the Duke.
As for third party you would pay about $150 to have it authenticated with PSA or JSA.
Thank you so much for your help.
Would say this is too slowly written to be signed by John. I would definitely question authenticity on this one. So sorry....
It does appear secretarial, sorry. Some 70-80% of this period's 5x7 are said to be secretarial. A bit less with 8x10s' but it is the 11x14's that often bear the true signatures because those usually cost 25 cents from the studio, and back then you sometimes got what you paid for.
Thank you for your insight. I appreciate your time.
Thank you your help with my photo. It’s ok that it’s not authentic. I still like the picture.
It is a super photo - well composed. Is it thicker than a normal photo, Sharon? That would be doubleweight and very cool. Also, it appears matte or satin finish which would also be nice.
Yes, it’s like a thin cardboard with a matte finish. Not really black and white, but a sepia kind of color.
Looking at the selective focus it is clear someone took time to make a good image.
