Big news on the autograph front. Matt Harvey is headlining a sports card and autograph show this weekend at Hofstra U,  on Long Island, and will be joined by Neil Walker and Jay Bruce. Plus a terrific lineup of all-time Mets like Jerry Grote, Teddy Martinez, and Buzz Capra. http://bit.ly/1WFR9PH

I'll be curious to see how a big a draw Harvey is. While he'll cost big $, some of the guests will be free.

That's really high for Matt Harvey. Maybe not in 2013 before injury issues caused so much lost time (and questions about his future). There is always a NYC premium but that's ridiculous, IMHO. Especially $40 for an inscription.

There is always a premium for in person, your paying to meet the player as much as your paying for the autograph. But I paid $90 for my son to get an in person with Adrian Gonzalez and $60 for Justin Turner. I thought that was high.

That said, I'd be all over Dwight Gooden for $25.

Now he's headed to the minors.

That's a great idea, Rich. I'll ask him and my book agent.

Yeah, I wonder what those autograph buyers were thinking. Very risky betting on current players. And NY hype.
