I recognize an uncanny resemblance between the Lennon and the certificate signature ;)

HAHAHA

Well, eBay are aiding and abetting, because they will receive a 10% cut of this illegal activity. If 80%+ autographs are fake on eBay, then eBay must be making millions from this illegal activity. Their balance sheet will take a serious hit if it were cleaned up. It's a crime no one is prepared to tackle.

I have always said and written (before the EMR team was removed) that Ebay is an enabler of the listing and selling of forgeries.

They profit big-time from the sales of forgeries and, in my opinion, more forgeries are sold on a daily basis than authentic autographs on EBay.

To be honest, you're probably underestimating the volume.

This is a crime everyone can take part in. Thanks to eBay. As long as you don't get greedy, you won't get caught.

The secret is to mix the fakery in with some authentic stuff. Don't forget to give eBay their 10% cut - that's the important part. PayPal might want a cut, also.

and the reason I won't buy even a paper clip from them

There are tons of forgeries on eBay, however there are some authentic gems...just do your homework and then Do some more !!!...I would never right eBay off.

I agree to some degree, Beatleworld.

Because I've worked to have an eye for autographs, I have picked up dozens of great deals on Ebay, but unfortunately 80% (in my opinion) of those that buy autographs on EBay purchase forgeries and the scammers know they have a live one when they list their crap.

That's why the forgery industry is huge.  You have your scammers from Florida and the hundreds of kitchen table forgers.

Very true, unfortunately you’ll always have sellers who knowingly list crap, we can’t totally change that, what we can do is to educate ourselves and each other so no one buys them...if they don’t sell they’ll eventually stop or slow the churning out of all the s***....that’s why this site is priceless !

This site is priceless, but those 80% who buy forgeries do not do any research what-so-ever and for the most part, will never discover this wonderful site lead by Steve Cyrkin.

My introduction to AML, as a brand new collector, was related to a forged Hotel California album that had a COA from the same "authenticator".

Darn I just saw this thread and I bet it’s slready been sold!!!

Sorry ,i beat u to it.ill sell it to you for 20k if your interested!
