I hope you get it. If I'm not being overly personal, let me know what price the seller accepted. Since it belonged to his mother, I anticipated the seller being fairly rigid on the price. It would nice if you could clean it up.

I will not give the actual price I paid although it was a good amount less than the asking price. I do promise that when I'm done with restoring it, I will post it here all to see.

It's Joan Crawford. It's a stamped Hurrell. It's a piece of Hollywood history and deserves to be preserved.

That is a genuine early Joan Crawford. Nice image - matte finish? Doubleweight paper? Even better if so. I'd be interested tom know the photographer.

Yes, 1935 and almost certainly by George Hurrell! :) What size is it? 11x14???? Doubleweight paper? This could be quite valuable.

I can't quite gauge the size of the photograph from her signature as she wrote smaller earlier on. The borders also seem wide. But a signed Hurrell...

Paper weight, the amount of silvering...the condition of the ink...these things matter now. Might there be a stamp on the Reverse?

It's an 8x10 Hurrell. Here's an image of the back. It's currently listed at $275. Although, it is rather beat-up

I think it is quite nice for a vintage SP closing in on 90 years old. As I hoped - Hurrell, 1935, stamped, double weight paper, matte finish... There is also Make an Offer.... Would that were the original frame...
