Hi Everyone!

What's your opinion on this Lennon signature from 1980? The guy said he got it from Beatlefest in 1983 and the lady who met John got it when him and Yolo were visiting Cafe La Fortuna near the Dakota building.

I compared it to other Lennon sigs from the same era and it looks good to me. Roger Epperson gave me a quick opinion and said it looks ok.

Any chance of a better pic?

You really can't get a reasonably dependable opinion until you have a large photo photo that isn't grainy and with decent lighting. There's no way to tell if it's possibly a copy, for instance.

One thing that concerns me is that Lennon supposedly signed it for a lady in 1980, yet the dealer offered it for sale in 1983. Not many people who got in-person autographs then were doing it for resale. Why would she sell it only a few years after he signed it for her?

I have seen some (very few) similar styles to this one that were supposedly authentic.  But, like Steve said, can't tell anything from that picture. Is that what Roger saw to offer an opinion ?  I would highly doubt that. Also, to Steve's point, why would someone sell it after three years.  I've been to some Beatlefests over the years and I have seen my fair share of garbage being sold there as well.

I actually bought it from the dealer in 2014. I tried taking a better pic for you guys with my camera phone, but it didn't come out so well. Let me try with a better camera tonight.

In my opinion it’s no good but these late John’s are amongst the hardest to tell.
