Hello,
I am looking for an opinion on this Greta Garbo cut signature I came across. The story on it is, a gentleman in his mid 30's (around my age) was cleaning out his Grandmother's house after passing away. He found a bunch of art, photos and some autographs and the list goes on. Apparently she spent a lot of time in NYC (plays, socializing, etc) and met different people.
I have seen some Garbo's before and not really sure about this one. It looks like it has some characteristics. Could have been signed sometime between the 40's & 70's??? Don't know when it was signed. The guy I got it from was not sure.
It is signed in pencil and on a piece of old thin card stock. It is (or looks) aged with some discoloration to the card stock. The back of the card stock is darker. The piece may have been from some framed piece or something together with others that it was cut out from. There were some other pieces but I only wanted to take a chance on the Garbo. I did not invest too much on it but would still like to know what someone might think before I have it checked out by another party like PSA/DNA. See picture attached.
Any info is a big help
Thanks
Patrick, check out this website, if you haven't already.

From there you can draw your own conclusions.
Yeah...I thought of that too...but some examples I saw were similar and some had the "a" in Greta connected and some did not. Same thing with the "t" in Greta. Some were crossed through the loop on the "t" and then I found some that were crossed above in a similar fashion but smaller. Again I am not 100% on any of it so I am still looking at it from examples from the website that Tony listed above with some other book examples. I am not an expert by any means but the research kind of fun.
Thanks for your comments.
Still looking for a few more opinions on the Garbo. I would appreciate any and all.
Thanks in advance.
How does this one look to you?

I don't like either of them.
