We now have a Musician-Direct Autograph Sales Forum where you can post individual discussions of new offerings. It's a big change—and a big improvement. We closed this discussion after 8 years but it will always be available to read.

The new system has been in place for 2 months now and it's working well.

This video shows you how easy the new forum is to use.

You can follow the forum and be notified of new signings exclusively! And you can enter a musician's name in the forum's search box and find any discussions about them.

Be sure to click the Follow link at the bottom of the list of discussions.

Try it...I think you'll like it.

Though I recall a member posting a blog asking about this a while ago, I could not relocate it for my purpose in this discussion.

It can be nice when one stumbles upon a musician's shop (via their website), to see that they are selling their autographs. I figured this could grow as a wee database for listing those musicians who partake in this.

I recently recieved a couple press photos signed in ballpoint from John Mayall's website (http://www.johnmayall.com/merch.html). I am also aware that you can purchase signed CDs from Peter Noone of Herman's Hermits(http://peternoone.com/store/). John 5 ( formerly Marilyn Manson, Rob Zombie guitarist) sells various items signed, with an option to dedicate.

So, does anyone else know of this being done by other musicians?

Primus has signed tour posters on sale on their site. You can choose from various cities but the artwork doesnt always show so you may have to google the city you want to see the artwork. Proce is $80-100 (what they charge at their shows).

I live near Looney Tunes and the way they've handled the McCartney thing has EVERYBODY ticked off—but for different reasons than mail-order folks might have.

Our Long Island music community has supported Looney Tunes through good times and bad, including when their store burned down in the mid-2000s. They get this motherlode of McCartney autographs and do they turn around and do a solid for the people who come into the store and buy music from them, week after week, for decades with this contest? Hell no, of course not.

Instead, they open it up to the world, grabbing CD and vinyl sales from people who are only ever going to buy ONE THING from them ONE TIME. The locals who have kept them in business for decades? Screw 'em. So while we've put hundreds if not thousands of dollars in their pockets over the years, they're going to sell us down the river for $20 from some guy in Ontario or Japan or wherever.

It's crummy, short-sighted business and it's going to bite them in the backside.

That's a good point Clive. The owner is milking this beyond dry. I bought 5 McCartney cds when the contest was first announced with the promise that the chance of winning would be "huge" and that they were going to raffle them all off on that first scheduled drawing. There were very few tickets in that box but now I'm sure there are tons. It was very misleading. And now the store has threatened that anyone who posts something negative about it will have their entries removed.. not sure that's legal?

I shopped them once recently and when I clicked check out, all of the things I had in my cart were “out of stock” They have a 2-bit website that isnt current w/stock and now this McCartney charade. Wont be visiting their website again. Amateur hour for sure, lol

They actually announced in their video just before the first drawing that no matter what, only 1 litho per person, even if you get drawn more than once.

Guys, actually this looks like a fraud. Notice that photos of one of the sold lithos were taken at Looney Tunes sofa - exactly the same as on the YouTube video. I would rather report this to Macca Team to make sure they sue the guy's ass, as I believe he had to sign some sort of a contract that there would be only distributed among the winners / fans.

I'm all for it.. he's really misled everyone. There were 3 stores..however 1 was in Florida (I called them) and they said they only got 1 to give away. The fact that the seller is listed in NY is also suspicious.

For all my mixed feelings about Looney Tunes (I've usually had good experiences there other than the way this contest is being handled), I don't think that's the same couch, nor do I think they'd be that foolish. Plus if that is from an inside person, I could picture it being the result of giving a few to staff members to keep the peace. I mean, if I'm getting cranky about a diluted raffle pool, imagine how your loyal staff might get about having a bunch of McCartney signatures RIGHT THERE and they can't have one.

Has anyone seen a signed litho by that other major artist Barbra Streisand that was supposedly available by chance via a pre-order?
