Please look at my Jim Morrison autograph cropped from a 1968 publicity photo that

I got from a friend in 1968 myself. I see it`s different from all the autographs I`ve seen

online, though most characters are very similar to my eye.

Is that felt pen smudges from 1968?

I’ve had this photo in my photo albums since 1968, summer cause we

moved to Niagara-on-the-Lake during summer break. Probably the last

I met Maryanne, she came to our gatherings in Queen Elizabeth Park, NF.

We were teen urban hippies, and loved the Doors, most of us did.

Maryanne was a little older and she gave me the photo. I always kept it

carefully, amazingly, though I kept my photos and negatives since then

as well. I have an autograph Frank Zappa gave me after the Mother’s

Concert in Rochester, in October, that year. I’ve looked at the Morrison

photo at least yearly since 1968, I always saw the smudge.

Can't say I understand your reasoning but I'd love to see your Zappa autograph

It's clearly not authentic in my opinion.

What an odd item. Most of the letters substantially differ from the authentic examples I’ve seen.

Are you sure it was in 68?

Yes I’m certain because I remember that year, it was a turning point

in my life moving from Niagara  Falls to Niagara-on-the-Lake. I never saw

Maryanne after that, who gave me the photo.

Yes but they differ in a similar hand don’t they? In summer 1968 The Doors

had been just a year in the news, and the publicity photos weren’t so recent

I’m thinking.

A ball point pen I could understand from ‘68, a felt marker, doubtful.  Does not look like any Morrison I have ever seen.

The writing is a little too “flowery” for Jimbo, IMO.

Jim’s authentic sig is “scratchy” for lack of a better word, lol

Sorry for the OP - always a bummer to hear the bad news, but it is what it is.
