I

Because her signature was so variable, to me, it seems this could be one of the many variations. If you think I should edit my ebay post to say it is obviously not a real signature let me know.

I thought you were looking to buy this? You are selling it?

Yes Steve, I would pull this auction down now.

Interesting signature. IMHO, I tend to say this is way too neat for her usual signature. I am not convinced this is authentic.

Thanks for looking Joe. I agree - very interesting. Much to see, but the baseline seems odd, some slants, obviously really neat and legible and the ink looks so fresh and is applied so very strongly I am concerned. I fixed up the base scan so it can be seen a little better - it looks quite odd:

Thanks for looking at this. I disclosed the concerns  on the Ebay site and offered to refund the money to the winning bidder. I called Ebay and they said offering a refund is better than cancelling.  Thanks again.

Most welcome. Very good of you to be so straightforward - not everyone is. I commend your auction addition to reflect this thread. Can you add a more direct link to the auction?

The auction is over in 5 hours or so.  Being so close to the end, I can not seem to add anything else to the description. Someone may just want it because you the two of you found it so interesting and unless I missed something - it was not dismissed as an obvious forgery.

Some very nice folks helped me save my dog by donating things to  fundraising garage sales to keep up with the thousands of dollars in vet bills to fight his cancer.  Now that he passed at 14, I just want things to find a good home without taking advantage of anyone.

Thanks again.

You are very welcome. So sorry to hear about your dog :(

I find the signature to be a fairly clever forgery but wrong style for the minimum year of 1961.

Closing price of $200 says a lot. Someone gambled, and I might bet that someone who took that particular gamble (Garland is among the most forged, like Lugosi, Elvis and Leigh/Lee) won't know about PSA/DNA. It is worth much less than an undamaged program. :(

Call me a glass half-full kind of person.

The signature looks "interesting"

The problem is that the wrong timing makes it "too neat"

The JG signature is all over the place.

I choose to hope that on that day JG signed it like she used to.

What's the worst thing that could happen? You offer a 30 day return policy. Hopefully, the buyer will have it checked out and verified quickly.

There is not "half full" when it comes to autographs. It's either genuine or it's not.

Good news is it may just pass.
