It appears to be slowly written, with an inexplicable break in the loop of the “g”.

Thanks. Yeah, the G is very bad to me.

The accent and underline are also off. It is very slow but fairly studied - the "e" and "a" are correctly formed and the "a" slightly higher etc. But way too slow. He was slower by the 50's but larger and the accent was gone by C. 1944 so...

I agree. Looks like a young penman purposely trying to affect a shaky signature of the aged and/or infirmed. Even though slowly drawn, and that in of itself imparts a shaky quality, the author here looks to have imparted his interpretation of the ageds' penmanship.
