Has anyone seen the recent pawn stars episode that showed some guy trying to sell a terrible forged "lost poem" from jimi hendrix, Drew from aaunlimited.com examined it and almost immediatley deemed it not genuine

At first glance of it,i was in histerics   its the worst hendrix forge i had ever seen, the guy said he got it from jimis family....riki hendrix?   what a bs story

It was even funnier listening to the pawn stars owner give a history on jimi, saying he played the star spangled banner with his teeth at woodstock,...This guy needs to read some books and watch some dvds on jimi

atleast he knew enough to call a expert in,  its my opinion that aaunlimited is a good authenticator,as well as roger epperson,jsa,psa/dna,ama authentication

It would have been funny if christopher morales showed up to examine the forged hendrix poem on pawn stars,he would have probabley said it was genuine

Who ever forged it should get a job at autographs america, autograph central or pop culture signatures   im sure they can use another terrible forger(not that there are any good forgers out there,)

The show also showed Bob Dylan signing a album for chumlee and has had a few other autographs that were real(except for the fake hendrix poem)

Did anyone see Bob Dylan sign an album on pawn Stars?  That kid made it look easy!
Staged.

A number of incidents on shows such as this are "staged."

That includes people coming in with items they want to unload.

The supposed Hendrix item that began this thread may well have been a created  by the producers

who then called in their "authenticator" to pronounce their creation a fake.

.

That BOB DYLAN episode was definitely staged...You can see DYLAN's security behind him in the shot in the distance...how would they just happen to find him walking around like that...It looks bogus to me...love the show...huge fan...but these reality shows are not as real as that let on...no scripts YES...staged items coming in the door...no question
more then most people realize.   I wonder what it cost them to have Dylan sign ('er make an appearance fee).
Most of it is staged now.  If you go to the show's website you can submit the item you want to try to sell and they will contact you when to come in to get on the show.  I love the show, but at this point, the only parts I believed are not stage is when they come back from commercial and show you a birdseye from inside the store.  Notice when people come in to actually sell, the rest of the store seems empty.  My dad went there when he was in Vegas, said on a sunday morning the line to get in was out the door.
A good friend of my parents does the newspaper advertising for the store and he said that whenever he goes there, the main people are never there.  The store is mostly run by employees you never see in the show.

There's a difference between stage managing the show and "staging" the various encounters.

Of course producers will schedule the times when potential sellers will come in. Of course they'll clear the store at those times.

They don't want an unruly crowd to contend with. And of course they'll pre-interview guests.  If you don't do that then you have no idea what you're going to get when the cameras roll.

But it seems they're doing much more than that.  They're actually "staging" the segments.  The items and outcomes are pre-dtermined (scripted, in a sense). Perhaps  they're even finding or creating the objects that sellers bring in.

I only saw the trailer for the Dylan segment.  I did not see the actual segment.  What's peculiar about this is that Bob Dylan is probably THE most unlikely celebrity to just go along with some staged autograph signing.  Even for pay.  So I'm thinking that there's at least a chance that this segment actually took a bizarre unexpected turn.  That it's possible they thought they were sending Chumlee on mission impossible and were going to shoot his efforts as comedic relief.  Then he actually spotted and got Dylan.

To anyone who saw the segment, do you think that scenario is possible?

If so, it's a fascinating incident that they should have promoted like crazy.

I don't think so. You can see the segment here, starting at about 6:15.

Thanks for the link.

You're right.  Completely staged. And not even well done.

I do wonder how they got Dylan to go along with this....even for $$$.

He is a fan of the show, that's why he did it.
