I don't know Neal Dow's autograph, but based on this ALS on eBay and clip from an ALS on Abebooks, it looks real to me:

Thanks Steve, its good to hear from you again. Neal Dow was a scary looking guy, especially when he was older. I got another one that I'll post if you could you give me any thought it'd be appreciated. I've got a Gideon Welles. Abraham Lincoln called him Neptune since he was the Secretary of the Navy. He served under Lincoln and Andrew Johnson. Thanks again Steve...
