Michael Jackson drawings (Miscell inc. 'Historic portraits' and 'Disney characters')

I'm noticing a sudden influx of MJ signed Michael Jackson drawings coming on to the auction market, which seem to share the common themes of either 'portraits of historical figures'  or 'Disney characters'.

Both of these themes are of course recognised from Michaels' drawings both at a young age and later in life, but it is interesting that so many new drawings are being released on to the market at the same time.

Here are some current examples:

The 'Heritage' (RS) MJ Pepsi commercial- worn Crystal socks also look to be ex-Fossaas.

https://entertainment.ha.com/itm/entertainment-and-music/michael-ja...

Michael Jackson Socks Worn in Famous Pepsi Commercial with Signed Letter (1984). In January, 1984 Michael Jackson, along with other members of the Jacksons, filmed a famous (and in some ways, now infamous) commercial for Pepsi's "New Generation" campaign. The commercial featured a simulated concert from Jackson and family, complete with a packed house of adoring fans. Offered here are the custom-made crystal-studded socks worn by Michael during filming and highlighted in the commercial. Designed by Bill Whitten, who also designed the gloves and many other of Jackson's costumes of the era, the socks are soft cotton athletic tube socks studded from the ankle to the cuff with alternating columns of round and square crystals. Included with the socks is a 5.5" x 8.5" letter on MJJ Productions stationery, mounted to cardboard, reading "Dear Frank "TOOKIE" / Thank you for the great times on the Victory tour. We will never forget... / I know you had your eye on these, use them well... / My Original Socks from the Pepsi commercial. / Love your Friend.", and signed "Michael Jackson" in blue felt ink. Also included in the lot is a certificate of authenticity from David Geffen stating the socks had been gifted to manager and actor Frank Dileo, mounted to a piece of 12" x 10.5" masonite... (RS)

Here are the 'Fossas' Pepsi commercial socks from an earlier post on this thread:

and below them the actual Pepsi commercial socks photographed on Frank Dileo's office wall:

The signed white fedora on Heritage also looks like a Fossaas piece:

https://entertainment.ha.com/itm/entertainment-and-music/michael-ja...

Michael Jackson Signed and Inscribed Fedora (1998). A white (with black trim) fedora signed and inscribed on the inside by Michael Jackson with a black felt tip. Inscribed "Thanx" and "1998" in addition to the signature. Framed in a shadow box display with plexi cover. Measures 5.75" x 26.5" x 31". Comes with plaque that reads, "King of Pop / Michael Jackson / Fedora / 'Smooth Criminal'" on it in black letters. Frame is in Very Good Minus condition with chipping in various spots, while the fedora appears to be in Very Good Plus condition with faded writing. Comes with two color photos of Michael wearing the fedora. (RS)

Here's a photo from a news article about Fossaas, with the photo of this item in the background, just to the left, on the floor:

https://www.f-b.no/kultur-underholdning/musikk/michael-jackson/mich...

The article from 2017 says:

Richard Fossaas Parker (35) has decided, and the Fredrikstad man wants to sell the entire Michael Jackson collection he has in the US for health reasons. The price tag is NOK 18 million. (Norwegian Kroner)

He has accumulated a long time, and he has traded for some large sums. He has practically breathed, dreamed and thought of Michael Jackson in everything he has done.

- I sell for health reasons. I got a bang that has caused neurological ailments. And as if that wasn't enough, I was in an accident in November last year. So I struggle with pain and worse memory. That's why it's a big step down, because I can't hold on to the extent I've done, explains the Los Angeles collector.

But he should keep something, but hardly more than a complete Billie Jean suit and three gloves.

The Fredrikstad man has posted an advertisement on finn.no. There he tells about the collection which counts over 30,000 units, 6,000 of which are planned to be placed in a museum.

- The museum plan is laid on ice, but I hope to know much more by March this year. There was a law in California that we did not know last year. And there are tough requirements when it comes to the use of names and surnames. Therefore, the dream on Hollywood Boulevard had to be postponed. (Comment: Sounds like the MJ Estate objected).

- Now I'm in contact with a woman in Indiana, and there may be a lot going on there. First talk was promising, and we may end up making a lease.

The 'Heritage' black fedora is also very similar to a previous Fossaas - maybe a 'very close relative' if not the same one.

Michael Jackson Signed, Owned and Worn Black Fedora. A custom black wool fedora personally owned and worn by the King of Pop, Michael Jackson. The inner band is stamped "Michael Jackson" in gold, and the tag states the hat is a size large, made in the U.S.A. Signed in the crown indention by Jackson in white, the hat is formerly from the collection of long-time dermatologist to Michael Jackson, Dr. Arnold Klein. Dimensions of the hat are approximately 13" x 12" x 5". In Fine condition, with some fading to the signature. (RS)

These are two of the infamous Boris Karloff First Day Covers supposedly signed by Michael Jackson that Roger Epperson felt were forgeries in 2009. Heritage auction lots have the largest, best images in the industry. No other auction house comes close.

I wonder if the artist knows what's going on?

An 'ET' drawing that I don't think I've seen before. Seller botd_8 on ebay uk, gives location at Blackpool, UK. BIN £850.   Signature style as per page 1 of this thread.

MICHAEL JACKSON ET EXTRA TERRESTRIAL ORIGINAL DRAWING HAND SIGNED AUTOGRAPH

https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/MICHAEL-JACKSON-ET-EXTRA-TERRESTRIAL-ORI...

Around 30cm x 37cm this item came from Bob Jones - the former Vice President of MJJ Productions.

The item is tatty around the edges, dog eared and contains some folding near the edges also. It would look fantastic framed.

Appears to be drawn in purple and light brown pencil with some red accents.

Signature is written in red pencil.

Very typical of Michaels drawing style, use of colour and subject matter. I have been told this was drawn at some point during the 90s. I have had this item in my collection for around 10 years and it has been stored in a cardboard tube to protect it.

Kristen Leigh Auctions UK still selling fake-mj-signed drawings, like this Smooth Criminal on icollector online auctions, Starts at £300:

A little bit more ambitious in its pricing, this red pen Donald Duck comes from RocknScroll Guitars London, and starts at £5k.   Apparently it has Disney certification...

And there's a letter saying this was obtained from an acquaintance of MJ's chauffeur in 1999, having been left with a set of other drawings in the vehicle in London.  Not clear how Disney certification gets involved in the story...

'exhausted' Mickey drawing in blue sharpie, £200 start

A sharpie drawing in blue of an exhausted Mickey Mouse on A3 art paper by Michael Jackson, supplied with coa.

The first mention of Michael’s drawing talent goes back to the Jackson 5 times. In his autobiography «Moonwalk,» the singer remembers that he really liked drawing when he was a child. When the Jackson boys were staying at Diana Ross’ house, she encouraged them to develop their artistic skills. According to Michael, one day they got caught up in painting and accidentally stained the white carpet in Diana’s living room. They panicked in fear of punishment, but Diana didn’t scold them, she only told them to clean up the mess.
