This John Lennon was posted in one of the many facebook autograph groups. The poster wasn't selling it, just showing it off.  Several others informed him that they don't believe it to be legit.  The original  poster stood by it being real and would call anyone a troll if they thought it was fake.

I don't know John Lennon autographs but I know alot of members here are very good with him.. So I was curious, is this a legit John Lennon auto???  It is said to have been signed in 1971.

The system can be buggy sorry. Send it to me at editor@autographmagazine.com and I'll upload it.

Brock just posted it on here, as you could see I took my loop and shined a light behind the index card, which then shows the overlapping, which wouldn't be there if it was a rubber stamp.

Thanks, Brock. That definitely clears it up.

This sold 4/27 on EBay as a BIN for $950.00

It sure did, it was a steal for me. People act like people don't find uncerted autographs for dirt cheap all the time, and they end up passing reputable third party authentication. Some of the best finds in the world come from eBay, antique stores, and yard sales.

That was a heck of a deal!

+1

Obviously $950 is cheap for a Lennon but somehow this seems a bit odd. Would John really have written so neatly at the top of the index card/autograph book page? Reminds me of the way children sign each others' autograph books when leaving school (or at least used to when I was at junior school half a century ago).
