I've seen displays where a word from the letter has been cut out and sold as authentic handwriting, in doing so, replicating the LOA and attaching it to show the word came from a letter certified as authentic. My question is if you cut a word out of a letter, wouldn't that cut need to be individually certified as it is no longer a part of the letter as a whole? I feel that if the letter is cut in many pieces and the same certification number is given to each word because it was part of the letter that was certified, wouldn't this cause conflict as there will be multiple items in the industry with the same certificate number.
I've seen this George Washington piece that had a word inside the display, but the word was part of a letter that has a LOA. The handwritten letter was cut into pieces and the LOA included is a copy of the LOA for the Washington letter as a whole, but not the word included in the display.
