Your not convincing anybody that it is worth that even with a letter from tracks ?
unnnn. Just a thought. I wonder if there was maybe something fishy going on because that price is not really normal for a set of b sigs. I remember reading a while back about sharp practices going on in the 4 large auctions houses, - I wish I had kept the article. I am not inferring that this is the case here, but it makes no sense at all that 2 people would pay that amount of money for a set of sigs on paper. Just my opin for what its worth
funny u say that I was speaking to someone about this and the first thing we both said is something dodgy is going on here.
Any way even if they are trying to move some money let them get on with it lol , or maybe we’re over thinking it and someone have actually payed that if they have good luck to them ey lol
I think this was simply a case of two rich bidders in a bidding war. They probably didn't know what the "going rate" for such an item was or were so wealthy that it didn't matter anyway. Sotheby's have also had quite a few freak results in their internet-only movie poster auctions (e.g. James Bond UK quad at £70k!).
It also has to be remembered that this auction was publicised to the hilt. That would have drawn in a lot of wealthy unknowledgeable bidders (so-called "casual buyers").
