Jack Nicholson Authenticity

Hello!

I just bought this from a respected group on Facebook and it comes with a Zippo (Michey Zippo) COA in which he received in person. For some reason it did not pass BAS Quick Opinion, but looks similar to others I have (IMO). Any thoughts on this one?

BAS quick opinions stink. I can't say your Nicholson will pass or not but I would recommend ACOA. They are much better. Also, I recommend a better picture/scan. It's too small to properly evaluate.

Joe, appreciate the reply and feel the same way of the BAS quick opinions. I did update the size of the photo to help see the flow of the actual signature.

Joe, went with your recommendation in sending it into ACOA and it did pass authentication. Appreciate the recommendation there sir!

I think this is also a no, in my humble opinion. From my exemplars and in person Nicholson's, when Jack dropped the pen to paper for "J" it was shaped in a clockwise direction…..not counterclockwise.

I agree with BAS. I have a few concerns about it, including the baseline. I prefer not to be too specific about my concerns here, since we all know that forgers use this website to educate themselves. If you trust the provenance, you may be fine.

Mike, truly appreciate and value your feedback. Also, respect that you do not want to get too specific as forgers are on here, but I am strictly a buyer and never sell. Did have it certified by ACOA recently, and have seen similarities with other certified exemplars, but always respect your initial response as always. Thank you sir!

I don't mean to be a wrench in the gears…..but the Hopper looks to be to pretty for an in person unless he signed for a private signing before he passed. All of my Jack's in person and exemplars tend to be upright and not leaning to the right…..again….not to mention the "J"s in Jack are signed clockwise……not counterclockwise……I don't mind to be wrong….but show me the money.
