Hi folks, new member here. I'm looking for information on a 3 Stooges autograph. I saw this item at an antique shop, supposedly signed by (one of) the 3 Stooges, but seeing as it is so inexpensive, I'm looking for opinions on whether it's possibly real or not. It does match several of the images I've seen online. At first I figured it's not real, because it's just signed "The 3 Stooges" instead of an actual persons name, but I did find several examples online where they were signed the same way. So I simply don't know. I am referring to the signature at the top. Thoughts?

No, this is definitely not authentic. I'd recommend looking for their individual signatures. Maybe try searching a bit online for good examples....RRauction has a nice database of exemplars from their past auctions of signatures of the various Stooges over the years. Also know that all of the various Stooges are heavily forged as they are very desirable autographs....so be very careful. Feel free to post anything else that you find for feedback.
Very true, and expect a nice premium if you see them all on one page. Abbott and Costello is just 2 sigs and that's bad enough (I have 2 matching pages from one album and even that was costly) - getting all 3 Stooges on a single page is almost a trick.
One of my most disappointing autograph experiences involved a Three Stooges photo. It was a vintage b/w glossy still photograph of Moe, Larry and Curly in a 1930's gag shot. It had beautiful bold black fountain pen signatures of the three of them.
I came to find out later from another collector, after several years of it proudly hanging on my wall, that this signed still had a sequence of production numbers in the negative that dated it to the release of the film "Stop, Look and Laugh" in 1960. This movie was a compilation of older scenes from their 30's/40's Curly-era shorts. It came out nearly a decade after Curly had passed away....so obviously no way for Curly to have signed it. It was a pretty good job whoever did it as it fooled a few of us with whom it had changed hands over time!
Thanks, guys. I really do appreciate it. File it under "If it looks too good to be true..."
