Meeting Michael C Hall next week, what pen do I have him sign this with??

I will be hopefully meeting Michael C Hall from Dexter this upcoming weekend and I have an art print that I'd love to have him sign. I was wondering if anyone can tell me what kind of pen/marker I should pick up to have him sign it in? I am only familiar with sharpies and I'm not even sure those are the best. I think silver is the color I want, unless maybe there is a red that would show in the blacks of the picture? I just want to make sure the signature looks as good as it can and not fade over time.

I've attached a picture of the print, let me know what brand of pen/marker and color you guys think I should go with. Thank you!

Really cool print! I think I might just go black on the red. How come you're getting to meet him?

Thanks! I'll be hopefully meeting him and a bunch of the cast at Monster Mania Convention this weekend. I was super happy to get my hands on this print, as it was only a run of 30 prints that had sold out almost 10 years ago. The artist was cool enough to sell me his only remaining "artist copy" when I told him I'm attending the first ever Dexter reunion and that I wanted to have Michael C Hall sign the piece.

I do actually think having Michael C Hall sign on the red part of the print would make the most sense. I'm just worried black might not 'pop" enough or be as noticeable as I want it to, but to be honest I'm a bit of a noob when it comes to this aspect of autographs. I've gotten a ton of autographs for someone my age, but am just now actually trying to put effort into the pens I choose.

I'd go with DeCo Color silver - will work anywhere on this.

Some may disagree with me but I wouldn't deface the print at all.  I would have him sign something with an obvious picture of him and combine the two in a framed piece.   The print looks like it has considerable value to begin with and his graph may detract from the value overall.  The signature is not exactly a pretty one.  Same way one does not deface a rookie card with a graph.  Sorry to play devil's advocate.

I'm actually going to second this. 30 is an extremely low run # for anything. I can't imagine a signature would increase the value and has a higher potential to do the opposite.

If it's something you personally want regardless of the value, then my personal pick would be black on red.

Oooh, I did not see that - I'll third that opinion from Doug S.

I can understand where you are coming from for sure. However the artist who sold me this only remaining print thinks it'd be cool to have it signed by MCH and is kind of a big reason as to why he was willing to let go of it. So having the artist's "blessing" makes me feel like I'm not detracting from the piece so much. I did have some other items that may be good to get signed (Blood-slide Box set, Dexter Bobblehead, and a lunch tin of his AC unit). I just don't think they would come close to the print as far as displaying goes.

I do totally agree that Michael C Hall's signature is not pretty at all, and it's a convention so he'll probably be getting real sloppy with it. I think I'm gonna go through with it though, but believe me I know where you are coming from!

This will be great, have a brilliant time!

Thank you Stephen!

Can you make a print of this print?

That would be illegal.

While the thought might be tempting, I'd feel bad making a copy of it since the artist intended for it to be a run of only 30 prints, plus he is a really cool guy so I'd just feel bad doing so. Also as Eric said, It'd technically be illegal.
