I'm torn if this belongs in the random thread or not. Most might say random but I know a few people who will love this because of Lena alone

$25 - 1 of the 10 included photos will be signed by the band.

I didn't see many replies when the question was asked a couple of days ago about whether to get rid of the random thread or not so I'm still not sure what people prefer, it does seem like a lot of stuff I might have considered random has been added to the main thread in the last couple of days and in my opinion, it has been nice to see more activity on the main thread, anyway I bought one of the Infected Rain photo packs a year or so ago and  i thought by the listing that they were 8x10 size but they are closer to 5x7, still cool though

Curious, was there a specific reason the random thread was created in the 1st place? Were people complaining at all? I dont remember ever thinking I missed out on something special because a few obscure bands were posted ahead of it. If unpopular posts have no activity, they will fall off, yet remain easily searchable. The popular items tend to always shine through no matter what. Im with you and prefer the main thread being more active. As a music lover in general, im always excited to learn about new stuff so my vote is to stop using the random thread. Ill respect what everyone feels is best for the forum overall though.

Thanks for the info on photo size.

I don't remember specifically but I assumed it was to keep the main thread clear for the bigger names, when I first found the thread I do remember seeing complaints and arguments about cluttering the main thread, enough drama that I was afraid to post anything for a long time lol. I said it previously that no matter how it's done you will never make everyone happy. I'm retired and have plenty of time to scroll the forum but others want to be able to pop in and see the good stuff and might miss something good if it gets bumped to the 2nd page because of a bunch of smaller name posts. i do still like the non-musician thread though unless it's a big name because I did think it was getting out of hand at one point. but as I said I am fine with however everyone decides it should be

When I first started posting on this forum, I was pushing hard for there to be a "direct celebrity" discussion similar to this one. Its still something I would love to see happen but ive long given up fighting for it. I agree with you 100% that the non-musician thread needs to stay put until there is a discussion created specifically for it.

Thats interesting if people were complaining about clutter. It does make some sense but I come from a family who is extremely into family tree research. I will always see a need to have to most information available for this hobby as possible which is also easily accessible. People who are new will probably want to research their favorite bands or albums to see what was available in the past, especially if they want to compare and purchase on the secondary market. To me, its a form of future proofing. To be able to search for specific people or items individually, no matter how obscure, would help others so much better in the future. I cant tell you how sad it was to see all of KDs posts disappear that he created. So much information lost. Mistakes happen and we move forward but there is a lot of stuff missing now that I would have found helpful since his deletion and it reminds me all the time how important specific posts can be over 1 random thread post with tons of info that needs to be sifter through.

Overall, as long as the information is posted in general, its better than nothing but id prefer every artist and every item have its own separate post which information can be built upon over time if need be. Some of these "random" signed items can be available for years.

you know the funny thing is that when I first found this forum I was strictly collecting signed music so I used to get aggravated with the non-musician stuff being posted in a forum that was supposed to be for music-related items, but following the forum got me interested in other stuff and now I collect pretty much everything so don't care much about where it's posted anymore lol

Its never bothered me because I've always been a collector of both.. now if sports somehow snuck its way in, id probably throw a major fit lol

Just a suggestion here, but couldn't someone see a post in the Random section and copy and repost it in the Main thread if they feel it's misplaced? It would take maybe 3 minutes total and they can credit the original poster also. Just an idea.

I've done that a few times when I saw something I thought needed its own post but I think the complaint was that for the major names that sell out fast then it might be too late

Totally agree with the time constraint on bigger names. My concern is sometimes I'll see a dozen or more signed items every week and they're very low selling or even regional artists (I'll Wikipedia the band if I don't recognize them). If I'm seeing that many, I can only imagine other people are seeing many more also. It would be a clusterf**k of epic proportions posting those in one place. I'm fine w/ whatever, but I've seen many complaints about clutter on the main thread.

I feel like every time there is a big release "new" members crawl out of the woodwork to complain about clutter or discussions about the items. It's clear they only follow this forum for the in-stock notifications and nothing else.

Often when a bigger title is posted here, it's already on eBay within minutes before even the first thank-you comment. In my opinion that is not what a discussion forum is for. There's other channels better suited.

As far as I'm concerned if you take the time to actually contribute to the forum by posting new stuff (on-topic), you can decide for yourself where to place it and people should stop complaining.

totally agree, and it's probably only a few people but the complaints and rude comments have almost made me, and I believe others as well not even want to bother posting stuff if you have to deal with that. but you are right because with the major releases, I do usually see names I've never seen before making comments and asking questions lol.

I personally would be fine with that, credit doesn't mean much to me at all. Others feel differently about it however.. I can see certain members possibly being upset over stealing their thunder
