Beckett's special 15% off
Beckett's is having a Memorial Day special 15% off on all authentications with the code word "HONOR. Eve with the discount JSA was less on one autograph. I checked E-Bay to look at signatures Beckett has approved and sent in a hand full that looked similar to what they have already approved. I managed to mix in 8 different sellers.

Ive never done this before through the mail but tempted to send a few things in. Ive done PSA in person which worked out ok but now that I live in a rural area, I dont have many opportunities aside from a 2 hour drive a few times a year (still only PSA usually). Ill have to research this but are there any experts out there with any tips? Do they offer any regular discounts if they authenticate a bunch at once? Off-hand, im thinking of authenticating between 15 and 20 items. With shipping and insurance, would it still be better to go in person for a convention even if its PSA vs Beckett? Of course there is less risk in person for sure. Does anyone have any horror stories about losing items?

I asked this question to psa directly by email and got directed to speak to an account rep. which made me think they want to know how much and how often - I dont think a handful of items once will tip the scales much. But I could be wrong - I never made the follow up call.
I also queried the forum on this not all that long ago and I dont think anyone replied back then.

Mailing / insuring / waiting etc. are a big concern for me with this method, I should add. Id only do this for high dollar items, personally, and Im not a huge fan of risk or being without my treasures. Rock and hard place.

Thanks for the reply. I get the urge to get this done every once in a while and these are the reasons I give up. Its probably best to just wait for a convention, pay for convention fees and gas, and just get it done in person all at once

I have just started this year as part of my "Swedish Death Cleaning." I sent them in to all three players. Unless you pay them more, PSA has a 65-day turnaround. I initially sent them 8 items. All failed. I am sending one of the 8 to JSA. I thought 5 of them should have passed. Becketts has regular specials.I try to take advantage of them when I can. They have a 30-day turnaround time. I contact JSA on FB about my items. They advertise a volume discount. They give me 10% off whenever I submit $2,000 in submissions. I have asked them if they could certify autographs that do not show up on their list like Stephen Ure. They ask to see the signature first, so it is like a "free" first look. Their turnaround (the Florida office is quickest) is 10-15 days, so they get most of my business as I resubmit when I get a batch back. Their web pages all work differently. I compare certification fees. They are not all the same. JSA tends to be less. In some cases $20 vs $50 for the same item. They are confusing for multiple signatures/single-item pricing. Becketts and PSA seem better there. I have eliminated many items from not sending in and I still have about a 50% fail rate which I understand is good from the articles I have read. JSA will not let you know if the item you sent in passed or failed. You will find out when you get it. Becketts on the other hand informs you by email/text of all your items, which ones passed or failed.

Really appreciate the reply. Im not concerned with items failing. These would be items I know should pass no problem. Examples are Obama and Springsteen cuts from the Renegades book and Michael J Fox / Christopher lloyd signed photo from Official Pix. All researched thoroughly myself as well and making sure the big 3 have all passed similar items. These items are going in my daughters collection which ill give her in about 15 to 20 years (she's 3 now) and in case she has no interest, they need to be treated like an investment. If they were for my personal collection, I wouldnt care at all aside from this item I had done from PSA years ago in person.

I'm sorry your items didn't pass. This is always a concern even though I myself am certain, im still paying for someone else's opinion and who knows if i catch them when they are having an off day or whatever. No one is a fan of wasting money.
This is a lot of great info, especially turn around times. The more I think about it, I think ill just catch them in person one day if im going to submit at all. Im sure im going to consider it a few more times until the stars align and I just go for it like I did with Belushi
