So these exist. You said you never saw one. Perhaps you never saw one signed either. It is now possible.
Mikex, I suppose you are reading all this but what do you make if the above 1973 card and signatures?
This one - scroll up:
I realise I'm going to have to work hard to prove this.
I have now made contact with a Marc Bolan family friend. Marc Bolan's brother came to visit him last month. I have now asked him if it would be possible for Marc's brother to authenticate the OP. Would this be enough?
He sent me a photo of the meeting. Marc's brother is far left. His name is Harry Feld. Feld being Marc's birth surname.
Someone will certainly correct me if I am wrong, but I don't believe this would be worth much of anything.
Thar/those/they were signed under circumstances we/they don't know and weren't present for, some half a century ago.
I can see whatever i come up with won't be enough.
Epperson said no and a UACC dealer says no. Now Bolan's brother won't be enough.
As this is turning into a tennis match. I will bide my time for someone else familiar with Bolan comes along.
Did he sign birthday cards with his full stage name?
Mikex, Bolan died in 1977 and odds are he never studied his signature to make sure it was authentic.
If you were looking for John Lennon's autograph and I offered you one with a note from Yoko saying it looks real to her, would that be good enough for you?
"...Epperson said no and a UACC dealer says no..."
Not enough for me.
I've seen one of those and Tracks UK be mistaken on the same item, so no, not enough. I was wrong too. And so was another.
I can see where this is going.
I'm taking the advice of people i asked. " "Don't get involved in other people's autographs"
Some while ago i was discussing with Epperson about the Bowie fakes. He told me then he never visits forums or gets involved in discussing other people's autographs.
The most important focus of Autograph Live is autograph authenticity. That's where this is going. Study the authenticity using accepted methods, and be unbiased.
I'm not trying to protect anyone. I'm not even a member of RACC, and I don't think I ever submitted anything to ACOA for certification. I think I asked for opinions a few times years ago, but not for a COA, online or off.
