Your second photo lacks the florescence of live ink (orange etc).
Thanks Eric. It appears very flat against the gloss of the photo, so not a preprint . Seeing a lot of matches! Was this stamped?
It could be one of a few facsimile types. Stamps are not always flat.
That's a 5x7 preprint. Hollywood 5x7s are almost always preprints or secretarials.
Indeed - true since the 30's. Beatles410 says the ink is flat/non-reflective and the photo is high gloss - I've not seen that before on a preprint?
These Perry preprints are out there by the thousands. If he has it in his hands and can't see the gloss on the autograph, change the angle and lighting. It should be there. If it's a photo of one being offered online, they can remove the gloss from the autograph in the sales photo in Photoshop.
