Louise Brooks signed picture.

I bought this at a fair price as a vintage studio picture. It's signed in the back by a fan saying it arrived in April 1927. It's 5 x 7.

I've seen a couple others. One an 8x11 unsigned.

Another signed "Sincerely Yours" on top, "Louise Brooks" below. 

The one I have just says "sincerely" with her name below. 

I've studied a number of signatures on these and different pictures. All are slightly different in terms of lettering and spacing. No two are exactly alike. So I doubt they are stamped. Most likely, secretarial. However, they are really similar to many authenticated Brooks signatures. 

I would be curious about further information and opinions. It's a nice piece of vintage memorabilia regardless.

Is that white ink or a part of the photo? It does not appear ink but like so many negative signed fan postcards.

Hi. Thanks for the reply. 

It's hard to say. Under a magnifying glass the "S" "L" and "B" look like they have tiny striations or darker flecks. Very hard to tell with the smaller letters. The "S" especially. Could be some aging on ink? Just speculation.

But I have seen this picture with signatures that all vary slightly so it seems unlikely that the studio mass produced the same image  printed with variations of the signature. I would guess it's a very good secretarial. With a tiny  chance it's authentic. 

Maybe one day I'll get it forensically checked.

Judging by the slightly out of focus end of "Brooks", I'd guess this is signed in the negative but it is not completely obvious (see the ink-looking "S" of "Sincerely").

Anyway, I'd guess the signature itself was not written by Brooks herself. Here is my only  vintage Brooks:
