Hello -

Hoping the members can help.

I've seen from previous posts that some of you HATE the Ebay seller of this item:

https://www.ebay.com/itm/266434111036

based on other items he has listed.

However, I own several known real Mother Love Bone items (one of which I'll attach scans) and this Ebay item looks real close to what I already own and I'd like to get it (have an offer outstanding already) to frame up with some other items to make a nice display.

However, I also don't want to light my money on fire either.

Any opinions?

Thanks in advance.

Once again, I own the included picture....I'm asking about the eBay posting.

I’m not familiar with their signatures, but would definitely suggest avoiding this seller altogether. I’d be surprised if it’s real considering that everything I’m familiar with looks bad to me.

I would not buy from this seller if "god" himself told me to. There is no way he has that stock, those names. I can't list them all because they are insane and lengthy. Where would I stop? As I look now, since the last sentence, they are incredible, unbelievable....the "Floyd" is absurd, I won't even look for a "Bowie"/ the rest are garbage.

OK. I looked out of sheer perversity. I was not sure he would have one. "Bowie". FORGERY.

PS  - NO ONE would sell a Bowie for $319.

Rockaway Records has a real Bowie for $750

When they say something is real, it's real, and they will back that up.

I would not buy that. It is a known forgery style.

IIRC this style was picked out in 2019.

Rockaway is world famous (they sold a 1 million dollar Beatles collection) and has been around for over 40 years...they deal with Heritage and Juliens....they would never sell anything that is questionable so on this one (and I don't know you, so no offense) I go with Rockaway. If it didn't pass any service they would immediately refund and prob give you something for free to make up for it.

The market has been flooded with Bowie forgeries coming from one person in the UK since 2019 - this is still not largely known. Most folks are not buying Bowie right now as a result of this mess.

This signature has several characteristics I and others have identified as problematic. I know Rockaway is a very solid seller but that does not equate to authenticity in this case IMO. I am hard pressed to think of any auction house NOT taken in by some of these current UK forgeries.

You can see a good number of authentic exemplars from 1976 to 2015 in my Bowie signature study here:
