Very nice. Thanks for putting these altogether. I especially like the driver's license example. I know they are some contracts on History For Sale site or at least there used to be.
Thank you Scott, and I appreciate the "Like". I am trying to help Minnie with her Cary Grant quest. I decided to take a short break from the Burton study (I have been touching it up - I must add all the nominations for Woolf?) ;)
Thanks so much Eric :)
I never tried to collect Grant although thought about it because I loved Arsenic and Old Lace and have a nice Josephine Hull. I do not recall ever seeing this own signature as Archie Leach that is very interesting. I think Dr. Brucato's CEAD is unfortunately no longer working.
Yes, THECEAD has been MIA for several years now :-(
I wish I had saved more. It was invaluable.
Yes, the same here especially since there were a couple of mine on there. I know Leon Ames was one of them. It was probably expensive to keep the site.
I'm sure it was costly but it paid in dividends. I would have contributed a few $ to keep that up. I'm sure others would have. Perhaps it is an indicator that vintage is just not what it was (to most but not all).
It is an odd thing everything Dr. Brucato has on his site that I want when he sends his lists out are usually sold by the time I check them. There are exceptions. I believe old classics actors and actresses will always have a high demand. Lugosi, Karloff and the Chaney's I cannot imagine will fall out of favor. There are tons of classic horror and Sci-Fi collectors.
The interest in television and movies usually moves ahead in time as younger people start to collect what they watched when young. That is certainly true with me I collect the shows from the 1960s and 1970s. Of course, I collect things I saw in reruns like I Love Lucy and the original Honeymooners. I think both of those will have a market in the future. I think modern shows like Friends and Big Bang Theory may be like that too. I just looked up Friends that ended 20 years ago, but I think of it as new lol.
