Well I’m expecting the parcel to be coming tomorrow only to be send back but he is not accepting returns so hopefully I sort this out on paypal tomorrow. I will come here in future before buying this is kinda stressful.
Yes, very wise. Always check potential purchases and look into your dealers before actually committing. Start with a search in the engine here for the dealers name.
I agree but he testimony is coming from a reliable source CNN he Authenticated like a 30k piece why would they go out of their way to get a forger to authentic an item worth that much. Also he was tagged on the official Bowie facebook as a way to purchase his authentic autograph seems strange to me.
Use your logic. You saw what I told you. Don't slide back. It is not authentic.
It may not be but you don’t get credited as a Bowie expert for no reason he must know that what he’s doing forger or not.
And me? He credits me. My work predates his website.
Kieran. If you are happy with the item and with the authenticator then no one here can convince you otherwise.
We can tell you how "Andy" referred those who were interested in purchasing David Bowie autographs to Tony Ford. We can tell you that Tony Ford and "Andy" are the same person and those autographs he referred for purchase were indeed forgeries. We can tell you he has refunded thousands of dollars and didn't ask for items to be returned.
If an eBay seller has 100% feedback does that mean that they sell genuine items categorically? ...Or does it mean that those who are happy BELIEVE what they purchased was legitimate? There are plenty of scammers with stellar feedback all over eBay. Testimonials and CNN doesn't change facts the man is a liar and has offered forgeries for sale. He has completely tainted the entire Bowie market by being labeled an "expert".
What makes "Andy" an expert? A website and some happy customers? This isn't the first "specialist" that has muddied a market (Stevie Nick's, Eagles, etc) it only takes time for these inconsistencies to come out before the community can find the same tells and traits over and over coming from one source that you can identify someone isn't who they are pretending to be. He fooled plenty. Con artists are good at that.
I'd suggest (on any item) if you have to ask the community for multiple opinions then instead walk away. Be self satisfied and self educated. Know the source and provenance. Buy slam dunk examples only. You may have to pay more, but you will be satisfied YOU determined the validity.
I will definitely be asking for a refund but who can you even trust anymore all major company’s get musicians autographs completely wrong sometimes it’s not a 100% guaranteed unless u got him in person.
I agree. It is tough. No sugar coating. In a hobby so engrossed in money and opinions/trust it is easy to look at a sticker, LOA, reputation and be blinded at what is in front of you... the Autograph itself.
The difference between say Tracks making a mistake and "Andy" is... One purposely lied about their identity and offered forgeries for sale over and over. That negates anything else due to his character. Still, as I said, YOU have to be educated and not reliant on anyone looking to make money from you.
