Anyone else?
Yup, Sydell Spear. The most you cab do is get it certified with a letter with the sticker on the letter and the secretarial will be fnkted and ask or a mention of Sydell Sear c. 1985 noted in the letter. I too can add to the letter with my own.
One reason I am not overly fond of TTM multi-signed items there is always a danger of secretarial signatures taking away from the genuine ones. Although it is a personal choice I think the original Audrey Meadows alone, and then one card each of Gleason, Carney and Randolph would have been better. I realize I am in a minority in this view. At least this one does not contain a forgery. I think what Eric suggests with an LOA explaining the situation makes sense. The three genuine autographs are not rare, or that expensive though they seem to gone up value in the past few years.
information regarding secretarials was much harder than to find back when i obtained these.
I'm sure. I started to catch on to something in 1984 but I did not know what. Not until 2012 was it known, and to me when I re-started collecting in 2016 or 2015.That is why I started weeding them out and then figuring out who did them by name and period.
Absolutely, they were much harder and even the experts thought many of the Gleason, Andy Griffith, Tony Randall, Tony Curtis secretarial etc. were legitimate. That is why so many have TPA certification. In the mid-1970s an old collector warned me about Andy Griffith, so I never bought one until his checks started being available online.
It that the three are together in the same unlined index card. Even true Spears are much less common than anything else apart from the genuine article. Almost all sets of four contain a secretarial Gleason so it is not unexpected. There are perhaps thousands of certified secerarials and forgeries of the same with the sticker on the front. That is a problem. Under the "The Honetmooners" Facts Page the authentics are out numbered by the forgeries/secs!
Those from the 60's by Patricia Saddleman are less in number. Those are actually worth something. Especially when cancelled in NYC.That is what you nearly always when you wrote the studio,
Here is one I found recently.
Keep that for your reference
Thank you! I must have well over 150 - there are perhaps 60 just in the "Vintage Autograph of Jackie Gleason" thread. Do you have information about when this example was signed?
