I think I like the letter.
Mr. Houle is a long-time dealer in books and autographs. I have bought a couple things from him in the past I never happened to see any that I questioned. Of course, only looked for specific individuals that I knew. I do not think either look like secretarial from what little I know of her autographs. I like the letter better than the photograph so if I were in the market would opt for that.
Thanks Scott. There is a secretarial posted below and here is her later sec:
This was determined to be a secretarial:
I remember that photograph it was too bad it was secretarial since it was a great image and in green ink. I know I have seen other letters, and they usually had a very theatrical look to them much neater than Joan's writing. Not sure how many secretaries she had over the years a few, I am sure. Not to mention studio PR department may have had some. The original photograph is nice, but I still like the letter. I am not an expert on her so am only going on my comfort level. When my gut gives me pause I try to follow it.
Thanks again Scott! I am drawn to that letter as I have a Bette Davis and a beautiful Baby Jane still.
Here. Vintage original still by Don Christie:
Wow, that is an amazing still of the movie.
Thank you Scott!
There is also this potential:

Wow, another good one. Never saw those stills before.
