Baseball with unknown autograph

Hi there,

I found this signed baseball among the belongings of my late husband who made several business trips to the US. I assume it has been signed by an American baseball player, but who? Any ideas? Thank you in advance :-)

My guess, as well, is that the OP has it upside down, as players would normally put their # after or below their signature (assuming that's a number).
