You don't see any difference in the application - the way the strokes look? When both are enlarged?
I haven't had the chance to sit and compare everything side by side. Not recently. I have a lot going on. Sort of everything happens all at once for me.
Love that this is being studied harder than most usually. Im trying to figure out what you are seeing exactly but so far, all I see is normal ballpoint pen behavior on certain paper.
The splotchiness that shows up, the way ink is laid down, flow while making abrupt directional changes and, and how it is absorbed in the paper made me curious in the past which lead to my own extensive testing. I was still into sports at this time and also researched ballpoint behavior on baseballs as well as paper... just stating this because, while I am confident, much time has passed and should be explored further to make sure my knowledge is not outdated.
My wife is an artist. We are aware of how various paper types absorb ink differently. More for our own home buisness involving paints and printer inks. All of this knowledge and I still don't see anything to be concerned about. This doesn't mean its not there though.
Is there a way to be more specific if an aspect seems off? Its great how you have everyone thinking. Maybe a good example for many to learn from.
Wow, that is a lot of information. Good to hear you have tested in the past and you have your observations now. Two people pointed out to me that they have friends who have MS. They said their friends have good days and bad days and every day is different. I read a lot of articles just before Christina's book was released and she described how much pain she goes through. She makes time each day to take her daughter to school and I think she said she does other activities with her outside of school so they have time together. Then she climbs back in bed and stays there. Her being in bed allowed her to write her book from what the articles say. I have quite a handful of books from Premiere Collectibles and weirdly enough I have not really questions them and they are big names too. They also sell more than just signed books but other very high end signed items. I remember when they sent an email out with memorabilia signed by Ozzy and selling it after his passing. While tacky, if they sell anything fake, their business goes down the drain in a heartbeat. A lot of this has to do with Talk Shop Live and how skittish I am to ever buy from them again after the recent Hilary Duff auto pen issue. I have only bought from them twice and now I worry that at least one might not be real which would be heartbreaking which is The Doobie Brothers from last year. While 2 different sellers, after Duff, I began to question Premiere Collectibles. Plus Christina has MS so I wondered how she would be able to sign after reading how she describes her pain.
"My wife is an artist." Me too, for over 40 years. Here is one of mine from my time in Maine visiting with Doris Homer and Charlie Willauer. It is oil on mahogany, just 3 inches by nine. One brush, one pencil, one night. I'd love to see your wife's work. As far as the inks/pens, I am seeing very different things in the two examples I mentioned when viewed in enlargement.
Beautiful art, sounds like then Christina's signature is real.
Thank you Sapphyre :)
I've seen that before. I believe you posted that in a different discussion a few years back. Can't remember which exactly. 3"x9"? Wow it seems much larger.. Its very nice. I love the idea of small artwork and actually want to get into drawing cityscapes on 2.5"x3.5" surfaces (trading card size) or even smaller myself this summer. I have a long way to go to catch up to both of you though haha. I was trying to get my wife to create small sketches for the borders of custom cut auto cards but she has no interest. I just have to learn to do it myself.
My wife doesn't want her work shared on a public forum. She has illustrated under a different name and our home based business is centered around her artwork. She's a very private person and always worried about AI or others copying her creations otherwise I would love to share. One secret, if you can call it that, she makes her own gouache and watercolor paint at home to incorporate into her art so pigments are more vibrant for certain aspects.
