All of these autographs were authenticated by G.A.I which raises the question....how the hell could one company authenticate 5 different style Mickey Mantle signatures ?!?!?!?!...Mike Baker authenticated 2 of these items which the one on top is actually authentic in my opinion....he actually authenticated that one...
The second Mantle I am really not quite sure about...is that a bad authentic Mantle or better then usual forgery ?...that middle Mantle really has me scratching my head...also authenticated by G.A.I. I don't like it...good or bad...its off to me
The third Mantle we all know about....garbage all day all the way...also authenticated by G.A.I. I do admit that I have seen some authentic Mantles popping up lately....were there coming from is beyond me since the great Mickey Mantle has been deceased since 1995...16 YEARS...
The fourth Mantle is really the closest I have seen in a long time...this will by far be the style that really ruins a extremely tainted hobbie already !!!! Iam guessing the guy that did the second Mantle also did the forth one also authenticated by Mike Baker !!!!!
The fifth one has my baffled...WTF is going on here !?!?!?!?!
JUST LIKE MY MAN CLINT EASTWOOD....I REFER THESE AUTOS AS THE GOOD...THE BAD...AND THE UGLY...and now THE REAL UGLY
Feel free to post any G.A.I Mantles good and bad...let me know what you guys think...

In my opinion, this ball is not authentic. You can see the wavering in the slowly drawn loops. The formation and spacing is slightly off. Although, it is a cut above the “Milkey Mautle” fakes. :-)
hey Zipper, Happy New Year! I agree with you on this one, no question. But I have to admit that when I look at some of the other Mantle's that are "obviously bad", I am having trouble understanding the differences. CEE GEE was nice enough to educate me, but even with that education, some of the ones that I think look good are bad, and visa versa. is it me, or is Mantle just harder? I dont seem to have this problem with Dimaggio, or most others!
I concur with my pal Mr.Zipper...if the forgers are reading this I don't want to give away whats bad...but I can see at least 7 red flags on this on in particular which makes me come to the conclusion its not authentic....
I will add like Zipper said...this is no question a better then the usual fake...no doubt about it...but if you really look at that second "M" the bottom portion is a bit shaky and not fluid it one bit...there really is a lot of negatives on this one
...if the forgers are reading this I don't want to give away whats bad...
That’s not an “if”… they are definitely reading these forums and ones like it to get feedback on how to get better.
I agree with you both. but what confuses me is that I see this particular forgery as an easy one to spot, but you guys are saying its better than average. I think it is really bad. but some of the ones you have indicated as "really obvious", look better than this one, at least to me. If I want to get into more detail, I will email you both!
I think he does a better job with the “an”… but you are right… it is still obvious. Maybe it strikes me as “a little better” because I haven’t seen this identical fake style 5 billion times as I have with others.
Thanks for all your feedback. I am looking to get a ball and send it to psa in the future. I cannot afford a psa right now but I will take a chance on a non PSA ball if it looks good. I respect all your feedback. If you dont mind can you comment on this one. I think it looks good and it is on a bobby brown baseball.
this is a tuff one Ron...i do see good and bad with this...its pretty sloppy...I am really not sure...lets see what the others say
