The spine on the inside was torn, cracked & separated. I posted a photo as did Lumpy. Another member as commented that it was received the same way.

I wonder if this is something that happened in transport or if they went into the box already like that? Any noticeable damage to the box?

I think they were shipped that way. The box was fine.

Interesting…I know the original version of this book came out in 2018. If these copies were stacked/stored for a long period of time, that could possibly explain the damage (especially for books toward the bottom of a stack).

Still seems like they should have caught it when placing the bookplates and swapped for non-damaged copies. I don’t know if they had any left over, but the unsigned edition is currently listed as “coming soon” on his website… which probably means it will surface in about six months lol.

Anybody from the EU over here? Mine is being held at customs God knows for how long (Spain).

I imagine it will remain there until you have paid the import fees - or is sent back. Luckily for you it is only 4% in Spain.

I would like to hear about any more damaged copies - please post.

Sure, i'll try to post here. They have my documents already, hopefully they let me pay the fees soon.

Here’s mine that I got today in the US.

With what the price is for his signature, I don’t they are going to give people an extra signed tip-in replacement

Mine is out for delivery. I’m going to be taking pictures or video myself before I open it to cover myself.

Finally got mine and when I saw the parcel I was having kittens!

This is not a high standard of external packaging. I could feel the book move around in the box as well which is usually fatal for something without padding.

However, on opening I saw that it was nestled in that secondary cardboard container and believe that - as such - it would need to be given a very sound third-party beating to sustain damage to the corners or spine ends.

I wonder, therefore, whether those damaged copies reported here were actually a bit beaten up before packaging. Unless you have taken photos of the package intact, they may say "take it up with your postal courier".

The book was first published a few years ago but my copy is a 3rd Edition with no date given. It's difficult to know, therefore, how long they have been lying around.  I am a bit disappointed about the edition status but overall satisfied with what I got.

Good to know about the edition, thanks for noting that. I guess it’s unclear for now when exactly these came into existence.

Mine just arrived, and I had the exact same issue with the packaging not being fully taped shut:

However, the rest of the packaging was fine as you  described and the book does not appear to have any damage.
