Well, it certainly doesnt look good given all the cancellations. You would think the few he supposedly signed would be better signatures and more characteristic. Not much flow in the ones Ive seen.

I may be wrong, but I believe this is the company that represents him for autograph signings. Those might be stock photos but that doesnt look like the same Sly as his actual autograph. Hes got a very unique handwriting style. I'm definitely not an expert on Sly, but the book signature doesnt look the same to me.

I honestly don’t know what to make yet. I’m not really surprised that it’s not a full signature, I didn’t really expect to get something similar to the one that was posted on his Facebook. But I haven’t found an example of his abbreviated signature that matches this style exactly (they have some characteristics of his signature, but still seem odd). I see people on Facebook questioning them as well, I guess we’ll see as more examples surface.

I'm a little suspect of these already because I haven't found other authenticated examples that look like these do. I wasn't expecting the full name, but thought we'd at least get the SS. I'd feel better about the SS.

Its somewhat hard to tell, or could throw it off, because those are "Sly" compared to "Syl" on his full signature so maybe his hand comes in at a different angle on Sly but what stands out to me is the loop on the Y on the books point to the left, and the loop on the Y in all his other signatures point down (looking at the one you posted, and all the ones on the website I linked). So the Y doesn't match up to me, the top of the S seems a bit more pointy also, but some of them are similar on his other signatures. Also the S doesnt connect on any of his full signatures, but does on the book, that could be explained by rushing or that he wrote Sly... but just the few things that stood out most to me.

If we need to speculate that much, that's not a good sign. Maybe someone with a copy should submit to PSA/DNA or the 24 hour Steve Grad service.
