I recently got this as a gift and want to know if it is a forgery. Please give your reasoning behind your opinion. Thanks for the help.

also came with this

Looks slowly drawn in my opinion.  I think it isn't authentic in my opinion; ask Mr. Zipper or Chris Williams who both know Mantle very well.

Sorry to say but that looks like a fake I was also burned on :(

not authentic

Sorry, but this is undoubtedly a forgery. It is a well-known "Milkey Mautle" style. The problems are too numerous to list, but the flags under the Ms are slowly drawn, top of Ms too pointy, and the inward bend of the right side of the M in Mantle are all hallmarks of this forger's style.

Thanks everyone for the input, you pretty much confirmed my suspision, now I gotta figure out how to tell my girlfriend who bought it for me.
Uness it is recent enough to get a refund, don't tell her. She'll feel bad. Just be happy you have a girlfriend that wanted to give you a real cool gift. :-)

Thanks again for all your knowlegde, would you all agree that If I find one that is already a PSA/DNA cert then i can assume it is the real deal? I know that JSA have a bad rep but never heard bad about PSA

When it comes to baseball items such as Mantle, both PSA and JSA have a very high accuracy rate.
What is you all's opinion on this? I'm trying to learn all I can to determine the fakes and save this mistake from happening again. Too many dishonest people out there that try to sell fakes.
