I hope he appreciates all of the free publicity he is getting!!!! I recommend you go back to selling Xbox games Keith.

James, when it comes to some they just aren't going to accept the opinion of others when it comes to commentary here,  bigdaddysalmon61 isn't the only one that has claimed full disclosure (pro or con) and presuming that is accurate then the buyer gets what they get.  The "flea market" mindset continues to prevail.

All we can do is post relevant information and hope the buyer, if there is one, in this case chimes in within the timeframes of the transaction.  However, since it was alleged to be done off ebay their buyer protection doesn't cover the transaction and if their was pro/con disclosure before it was bought the finanical instrument used won't reimburse it either.

I know DB just trying to appeal to their conscience. They do know what is right even though they are not going to follow it.

Keith...as you know by now this is not authentic...I have been burned on all 3 of these names in the past and there is nothing worse then looking at something on your wall or Mantle and believing it as authentic...I don't know what you sold this for...but a AUTHENTIC piece like this is usually a minimum $1000.00 on a bad day...now that you know this is not real you should really give that poor guy a refund...there is nothing worse then blowing a ton of money on something that is not real...and its not right to boot...I am sorry you originally got burned on this but you should do the right thing and contact that guy immediately !!!!!!

theBackPorchAntiques.com  is the place now associated with BigdaddySalmon61 and is what he operates other than EBAY (at the moment) and on Craigslist;   Or as he states; You never know what you might find at the Back Porch

the Back Porch Antiques & Collectibles is located at;

Antique Mall of Warner Robins Booth 116 1815 Watson Boulevard Warner Robins, Georgia (478) 335-1875

The   Please come visit us for some great antiques and unique collectibles.

now this is really, really sad... bigdaddysalmon61 has gone back and deleted ALL his incrimintating statements but alas some of us are way ahead of the game as well as the original information is preserved.  So not only is this individual deceptive but also a fraud!;

already posted information on this and your particular ebay sale;
http://live.autographmagazine.com/forum/topics/mantle-williams-and-...
appears EBAY Authenticators concurred as it; This listing (160850714446) has been removed, or this item is not available

actually I sold the photo and removed it from ebay....thanks

That auction was not removed by you, Keith, Ebay removed it.  If you had cancelled your own auction, it would still be visible.  If Ebay removes the auction, this is what you see when you click on the link to the auction:

the item has been sold outside of ebay. I was contacted by a potential bidder after the listing was removed.  I sold at a slight loss but had no choice based on what I found out here....lesson learned and only a few dollars lost....thanks

Selling outside of EBAY on listed items from EBAY bidders IS a violation of policy and as such you have jepordized your account as a result as well as the buyers.
Knowingly selling a forgery - well that speaks volumes.

So you sold something and are asking for advice if it's real? I hope you refund that poor buyer knowing that the piece isn't worth a cent

I can't believe what I am reading. this guy really doesn't get it........

No T8H he get's it very well.  He or the Mrs. runs a consignment section in an "antiques" place as well as sells on ebay and most likely craigslist.  When Williams challenged his listing I suspect that an email was sent that directed him here and he created this thread.  However, he found out that we are not friends of those who knowingly sell forgeries.  He did however declare that he notified the EBAY Bidder who he claims then purchased this forgery outside of ebay in violation of ebay policy of the opinions regarding the piece.  The rest is history.

I can only hope that EBAY takes swift action with regards to this account.

I understand, but what he doesn't get is how pissed off we all get at scum like that.  as long as he makes a profit, or in this case, cuts his losses, its a good business transaction. He has no business being on this site,and I expect we won't hear from him again.

no he gets it very well which is why he deleted all his incriminating posts.

SORRY PEOPLE BUT THE mANTLE IS REAL... THIS IS HIS CHANGE UP AFTER HIS RETIREMENT. THIS PIC WAS SIGNED AT DIFFERENT TIMES .

this is definitely fake, hope this helps you
