I really have no idea on what Jackson's signature should look like, but my concerns with this are:

1) The use of a thick silver pen on the tiny framed picture.

2) The "M" in Michael on the poster. Maybe it's just my eyes, but it looks like whoever penned the letter lifted the pen after the first stroke. That just seems odd to me.

Sorry for the small pictures, but that's what they posted.

Very bad forgery.  And Craig's List?   I'd avoid this site for buying autographs as there is no recourse if they turn out bad.  Let the buyer beware.

I would assume there is legal recourse, since you're dealing locally. I mean, wouldn't state laws fully apply? Thank you for your opinion. I assumed they were forgeries, but I was going based upon overall autograph theories, not actually by comparing exemplars.

Why do you think it's a bad forgery?

Bad. Bad.

There is nothing on the Craiglist post that indicates that this is real or authentic. I guess you buy at your own risk. The seller did not guarantee or post that these MJ autographs are authentic. No legal recourse. I would just stay away from it.

That's an interesting interpretation of the law, which I didn't think about. I always assumed that representation of an item implies representation of its authenticity. You might be right. :D

Both bad in my opinion.

I am really quite a novice at MJ signatures, but have seen quite a few and try to pay attention as to whats genuine and whats not. And even to me this looks like one of the worst MJ's ive ever seen. Each one is just horrible. I agree with the others above, i wouldnt go through craiglist unless you and others are sure it is very good. You would think that certain laws would apply if something went wrong, but the police honestly wont do anything. Ive heard many stories like this of people getting ripped off their, and even though they report it to the police, nothing gets done. Just an overall horrible attempt at MJ. I hope the forger was just joking around here.

I second everything Trapper just said.  I know only the most basic stuff about MJ and probably couldn't spot a well-done forgery, but those easy calls - terrible forgeries.

I never bother with Craigslist on anything.  People rightfully criticize ebay for fakes and fraud, but Craigslist looks to be just about a pure cesspool of it.

not authentic
