On December 2, Julien's Auctions is selling The Collection of Tompkins and Bush. The collection contains 465 lots of Michael Jackson memorabilia, 287 of them autographed.

Michael Bush and the late Dennis Tompkins were Michael Jackson's costume designers for 25 years, during Jackson's most successful period. They were the consignors of the signed Thriller jacket that Julien's sold for $1,800,000 in June 2011.

Almost all of the autographs in the Tompkins and Bush sale are a variation I'm not familiar with. I've only been looking at Jackson's autograph for a few years, though, and we have members here who have collected him for decades, so I'd appreciate your input and exemplars.

If you know Michael Jackson's autograph well, please look at a few images below from the auction and let me know what you think. Even better, browse the auction and upload any similar examples you have: http://www.julienslive.com/view-auctions/catalog/id/77/

Julien's is the world's premier auction house for Michael Jackson memorabilia, so they would know his autograph better than most of us. I'm just surprised I haven't seen this style before.

Thanks for your help.

It's also common knowledge that Gianni Versace created Michael Jackson's Dangerous costume (another museum piece), which is ALSO being sold by Darren Julien and Michael Lee Bush, that also seems to have a Tompkins Bush label sewn inside of it.

Oh, and I just thought I would mention that it was Gianni Versace and NOT Michael Lee Bush (or even Dennis Tompkins) who designed Michael Jackson's legendary - BELONGS IN A MUSEUM BUT WHERE IS IT NOW? - Thriller video jacket.  The very same jacket Darren Julien and Michael Lee Bush sold for $1.8 MILLION in 2010.

Thank you Michelle, amazing work,,

Yes, thank you for all of the contacts.

I also emailed the LA Times and TMZ but have not heard back.  You'd think they want more info but maybe they are investigating on their own?

I hate to say it but these ALL look fake. There no way near Michael Jackson style and this is coming from a big time fan and autograph collector of his. I will post some REAL Michael Jackson autographs very soon. Even if Michael Jackson signed for friends and took his time his signature is still WAY more different from these up above.

People there fake. Even if he was drugged up and drunk at the same time he still never ever ever signs his name like this. These signatures looks like a girl or some guy did this themselves.

Up above are 2 of my AUTHENTIC Michael Jackson 8x10's. These were signed in his van years back in the NYC. These are 1000 percent authentic.

Up above is my framed Thriller album of Michael Jackson and of course 1000 percent REAL!
