On December 2, Julien's Auctions is selling The Collection of Tompkins and Bush. The collection contains 465 lots of Michael Jackson memorabilia, 287 of them autographed.

Michael Bush and the late Dennis Tompkins were Michael Jackson's costume designers for 25 years, during Jackson's most successful period. They were the consignors of the signed Thriller jacket that Julien's sold for $1,800,000 in June 2011.

Almost all of the autographs in the Tompkins and Bush sale are a variation I'm not familiar with. I've only been looking at Jackson's autograph for a few years, though, and we have members here who have collected him for decades, so I'd appreciate your input and exemplars.

If you know Michael Jackson's autograph well, please look at a few images below from the auction and let me know what you think. Even better, browse the auction and upload any similar examples you have: http://www.julienslive.com/view-auctions/catalog/id/77/

Julien's is the world's premier auction house for Michael Jackson memorabilia, so they would know his autograph better than most of us. I'm just surprised I haven't seen this style before.

Thanks for your help.

Juliens have seen a money making machine in buying and selling Michael Jackson's belongings, whether its from other auctions, friends or fans, Justin was saying Juliens hounded him for a letter or card he had from Michael, just saying

I had a friend that bought items off E Bay and sent photos to Juliens for appraisal, in thoughts of maybe selling them. She said Juliens kept bugging her to list a signed item she had. He told her that they were mostly only interested and looking for signed items. I didnt see her stuff, for all I know it might not be authentic and the way it sounds Juliens doesnt care.

I'm sorry Steve.. I've been sitting back on this but I have to say that I do not believe there is any way there were more than two Indian tunics. That was customized and rare to see him in, only once in that photo shoot did we see him wear it.

Oh, and I guess that is a coincidence as well, that this auction from the same sale at Golden Closet/Gotta Have R&R

Michael Jackson Robe at Golden Closet sold in March 2010 in the same auction than the Jumpsuit...

turns out to be sold again at Julien's Auctions... on June 25th 2011...

Michael Jackson Robe at Julien's Auctions

It's really a coincidence, right...?

So if I'm correct, ALL THE OUTFITS that were sold in March 2010 by Golden Closet/Gotta Have R&R... ALL turned out to be sold again months later by Julien's Auctions... they are ALL THE SAME! Except the VICTORY TOUR suit which is a different one...!

It's a pretty coincidence... no?

yes Face, this is so obvious but not enough for many...

No way is there more than one of the Indian Tunics.
Tour costumes sometimes yes, but not the tunic. That is too specialize and one-off, no need to be multiples.
I agree with Face, too coincidental and I think it's the same Victory Tour jumpsuit that has been signed with fake autograph after Michael died.
Steve, can you ask Ed Kosiniski come to this discussion?
Might be helpful!

Sandy,

Gotta Have It has an auction starting today, so he's focusing on that and probably won't come into the discussion, but I'll ask him later.

Regarding the jumpsuit, I think it's a second one, but I'm not comfortable with the autograph on it.

The autograph on the jumpsuit is the thing to focus on now. And it's all wrong.

Steve,

You are telling me it would make no sense to sell a second time the items because of the fees...
I just listed you 7-8 items that were sold once on GOTTA HAVE R&R and re-sold again on JULIENS!

So it makes sense for all the other outfits from that same auction of March 2010! But NOT for the JUMPSUIT...?

Face,

I don't know if the other items are duplicates or not and I don't know unsigned memorabilia. But this isn't the discussion to talk about these. We're here to talk about MJ's autographs, particularly ones like the ones in the Tompkins & Bush sale.

Please either discuss this in the Michael Jackson group, or on a site that specializes in MJ's costumes.

Yes Manu, they could either damage it, OR restore it on some areas that has some damaging...
Remember we are talking about a reputable clothe/fashion designer...!
