On December 2, Julien's Auctions is selling The Collection of Tompkins and Bush. The collection contains 465 lots of Michael Jackson memorabilia, 287 of them autographed.
Michael Bush and the late Dennis Tompkins were Michael Jackson's costume designers for 25 years, during Jackson's most successful period. They were the consignors of the signed Thriller jacket that Julien's sold for $1,800,000 in June 2011.
Almost all of the autographs in the Tompkins and Bush sale are a variation I'm not familiar with. I've only been looking at Jackson's autograph for a few years, though, and we have members here who have collected him for decades, so I'd appreciate your input and exemplars.
If you know Michael Jackson's autograph well, please look at a few images below from the auction and let me know what you think. Even better, browse the auction and upload any similar examples you have: http://www.julienslive.com/view-auctions/catalog/id/77/
Julien's is the world's premier auction house for Michael Jackson memorabilia, so they would know his autograph better than most of us. I'm just surprised I haven't seen this style before.
Thanks for your help.

My Vintage 1984 MJ autograph
Very nice, Charlotte. There's the younger MJ L in Michael again.
From what I have learnt in this discussion the "L" loop of "Love" isn´t long enough. And the "n" in Jackson shouldn´t be looped at all.
That was an observation I made and brought up here. I came here (to this thread) because I started looking at authentic sigs, and then the auction ones, and that immediately stuck out at me. I however, am not an authenticator :) And I also don't know if there are authentic ones with the loop shorter.... but in most of his sigs that I looked at (the authentic ones), the L dips low in most of them.
On another thread this was a link given as an example of MJ sigs. Where he signs Love, again it looks like they all dip low-all 8 of them.

BTW Steve, you probably know which thread I got these from. I'm curious if the person in that thread ever did show the 312 examples pertaining to most of what went on in that thread? (I didn't finish reading it--but my guess is no)
No, he never posted the 312 examples, and never showed why the Rick Nelson autographs were wrong either.
imagine that.
No kidding, who would of thought he made that all up?
Yes, he did loop the N from time to time. Almost everything happens from time to time.
Steve,
Correct he did on a rare occasion but it is certainly the exception and not the rule.
yes Michael did use the loop in N, but look at the J, the combination is not as Bush signed,
MJ's signatures are easy to spot, they have a sharpness or pointiness to them when he goes up, comes down, then back up again. Bush's fake signatures have a roundness to them, a circular motion. Dead giveaway.
