I am sorry I have been out of commission for the past 2 weeks with a family emergency. We have also been very busy and just opened our 2nd location in South Florida.
The authentication issue continues to a major problem in South Florida. We have been working with many of the local auction companies and the local flea markets on educating them and supplying them with some knowledge on the autograph market and detecting the mass amounts of forgeries being produced and sold in South Florida.
It has become almost a daily event, with someone coming in with a 500 Home Run signed poster or a Mickey Mantle, Joe DiMaggio, Ted Williams, Willie Mays, Muhammad Ali item purchased at local nightly auctions or Flea markets. A great majority of these items are well framed & matted with name plates or the players names cut out in the matting. Most of these items recently have been coming with worthless Certificates of Authenticity or phoney Score Board certificates even going as far as making up phoney Score Board holograms. These beautiful framed items have been selling locally for anywhere from $20-$150. The signatures are all non authentic, the customers are basically purchasing a frame. :(
In the past few months we have also been seeing a great increase of signed baseballs coming from the same sources, they are almost always on the inexpensive white China baseballs. The signatures include Sandy Koufax, Hank Aaron, Don Mattingly, Willie Mays, Nolan Ryan, Pete Rose, Steve Carlton, Cal Ripkin Jr., Frank Robinson, Mike Schmidt, Reggie Jackson which I have shown in the past on AML. Many of these baseball also come with COA's for reputable 3rd party authentication companies.
I have just recently starting detracting a new name being produced and that would be STAN MUSIAL. I will post a few examples and will have some more information on this matter shortly.
Thank you for your time and I can be reached privately at specialagent711@aol.com

I wouldn't exactly call it the "autograph" business.

He's been certing for AtAuction since Sept. 2011.

He popped into a thread when his new crap authentication company was mentioned but disappeared when the questions started.

That's why I started the below blog (holograms on reproduced, edited or original Scoreboard COAs).

Thanks for all the hard work you put in exposing these clowns..

I am sorry , I have never seen or read the blog. Good work, you are correct Scoreboard did not use holograms. The also did not use blank certs, I was told that there were 100's of these certs at a local Florida auction just last week. The certs are just being printed up and helping to sell all this crap.

Yup a moron on eBay had a Dimaggio/Mantle/Williams fake with a blank Scoreboard COA with sticker. I told him they were forgeries. Of course he came back with "It has a COA." I said: "Did you not ever notice that the COA says 'Autographed By___________' ?????". He then realized he had been ripped off. Literally a copied piece of paper with no names on it, and these morons take it as 100% proof their item is real.
