The bat was supposedly signed at Hofstra in the 80's ...the balls, I don't know

Joe D ball looks good, Mantle bat is horrendous.  I don't really like the space between the M and a on the Mantle ball.

Thanks T ...The two balls are from the same person ...the bat, another. I thought the bat looked OK, but I just researched Adirondack bats a bit and saw that this particular bat wasn't made until 1993. The cert that this came with says signed at Hofstra in 1985 (July 14th). Hmmm. Your assessment would then make a lot of sense. Joe D. I liked...I'd love to hear some other opinions on the Mantle ball...

The Mantle ball is a forgery.  The Joe D. is authentic.    The Mantle bat is a forgery.

Thanks Christopher

You're welcome, Dennis.

Sorry to go against the grain but Im a bit suspicious (my nature) of the Joe D ball. The Gs are level and theres no slant to the signature (how it usually goes lower) but it could just be me?

Thanks Ian ..really appreciate the opinion. I'll respectfully disagree though. I just looked at some PSA/DNA Joe D.s with the "ggio" dead straight across...a couple even turned slightly upward. But you are right that most were trailing downward. I am guessing that that characteristic in Joe's signature isn't very consistent as others are ...my opinion of course ...thanks again

Ball is a banana Mantle and the DiMaggio looks good.

Thanks

The Mantles are both crap, the Joe D "Likely Authentic" IMO

Thanks Ryan ...that seems to be the consensus ...what do you think of the Scoreboard piece I posted?
