Typical set of Mantle, Snider and Mays forgeries.
And the usual Ebay wannabe autograph collectors are bidding on that crap listed by Ebay seller Cokerjerry.
What makes this ball such a fake?
New at this and don't understand how from a picture you can determine which are real and which are fake not knowing the year it was signed or anything.
Paul do some research. Anyone who who knows anything about The Mick's signature can tell this is a fake in the blink of an eye.

It's true, but unfortunate, that the majority of people who buy & sell autographs have zero knowledge of autographs.
I can't speak for everyone, but I study autographs every day. It takes a long time to train your eyes.
Ebay is probably the unsafest place to buy autographs. The scammers on Ebay know that Ebay is full of wannabe autograph collectors and that's why the sellers of forgeries flourish on Ebay.
This Mickey Mantle is a well known forgery....
Not to say that psa or jsa get it 100% of the time...but if you want to learn what Mickey Mantles signature looks like check out some of their authenticated items....they are very good at authenticating Mickey Mantle sigs.
that is the best way to start learning...
I see some variations in the style but that is going from a flat card to a ball and then not knowing the year each of the autographs was from, I see more work to validate it (or disprove it) then is able to be done on just a picture. I understand that fake stuff is out there, and lots of people are trying to scam. But I also believe not everything is a scam and not sure attacking sellers with this kind of defamation is any better than the scam. It may save some people from scams but in the process is going to hurt others that are legit.
I think the internet gives a lot of people lots of imaginary power and they don't respect it.
I see auctions that sell stuff "AS IS", "No Returns" and just shy of "Buyers Beware". Most legit sellers take returns and backup what they sell. I feel for those when they are accused - or not even accused but denounced. Goes back to a problem of society, no one is responsible for what they say or do, because it is their right to say it. I don't agree. I think what is said and how it is said shows a lot about a person.
But that is my opinion.
Every Ebay auction auctions reads: Seller Assumes All Responsibility For This Listing.
If you list a forgery, you are responsible for that listing, just as I am responsible for my comments on AML.
I have been exposing forgeries for ten years and I will continue to do so. I am sick and tired of sellers, using the Caveat Emptor shield to list and sell forgeries.
I will not speak for anyone else, but I sick and tired of it all!!!
do you think anyone is more disgusted than I am? With my abrasive & grating attitude toward it ALL for the last year, I can barely stand myself.
about 5 years ago, I got tired of buying forgeries and s*** canned 1000.00 worth or so. I told myself, I'm studying Mantle and Mantle only, as still enjoyed the hobby and wanted to continue to collect. That's what I did. It took about 3 months to get good and about 6 months to pick out trash like this one in a blink of an eye. Buying Photo's for 75-130 and balls for 225-300 uncerted. Figured I couldn't get hurt too bad. Then, I picked up a thing or 2 with respects to Dimaggio and Williams and picked up a 1/2 dozen balls of each, just for fun.
Now, the mustard is off the Hot dog for me. I despise this hobby, but still like the camaraderie of the chat boards and throw insults whenever I can. I despise it more because just when e-bay makes a little headway, they fall back into their old ways. These auction sites are retarded and I wouldn't buy a Kewpie doll from anyone of them. I'd rather pay retail for everything than to try and get a DEAL on everything these days. Then you have these charities ripping people blind and it's just moronic to buy anything honestly.
Here's my photo & ball file to help you study. Good Luck

Paul, as for your above comment, you write that because you have zero knowledge of autographs. Yes, I am being blunt, but that is the truth. Many of us here have studied thousands of Mantle autographs.
If you, Paul, took, and take the time as we have, to study autographs, you would know exactly what I and others are talking about.
